Dr. Michael Rosenberg is Vice Chairman of the Department of Ophthalmology at the Northwestern Feinberg School of Medicine and Clinical Director of Refractive Surgery at the Northwestern Medical Faculty Foundation. He has been performing refractive surgery since 1992 and LASIK since 1995. In addition to laser refractive surgery, Dr. Rosenberg performs intraocular surgery and is certified to use presbyopia correcting implants in patients undergoing cataract surgery.
 
Education / Training

Dr. Rosenberg completed his residency in ophthalmology at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, as well as a fellowship at the University of California in San Francisco. He went on to fulfill additional training in refractive surgery at the University of Monterey in Mexico.  Dr. Rosenberg has been certified to train other physicians on the VISX excimer laser.
 
Memberships / Affiliations

Dr. Rosenberg is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and, as an Associate Examiner for the board, gives the oral exams for other physicians to obtain their certification.  Dr. Rosenberg is also a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and he maintains membership in the International Society of Refractive Surgery and the American Society for Cataract and Refractive Surgery.

Honors / Accomplishments

Dr. Rosenberg has been published in numerous medical journals and textbooks, and as a visiting professor he has lectured extensively on refractive surgery.  For the last ten years, Dr. Rosenberg has been cited in publications such as Top Doctors of Chicago, Best Doctors in America, and America’s Top Rated Physicians.
