Eye Exam Information
In Chicago, Illinois
Adults are encouraged to undergo an annual eye exam to detect and prevent eye disease and monitor the health of your eyes. You may also schedule an exam if you are experiencing any unusual eye symptoms or suspect your refraction has changed.
During your thorough eye evaluation, your Chicago ophthalmologist will begin by asking for a complete health history. Your doctor will complete a thorough evaluation of the eye, checking for any abnormalities or signs of disease. Your doctor will determine your current refraction and assess your ability to focus between distances using an eye chart and special equipment. Depth perception, eye coordination, color interpretation and field of vision will also be evaluated. The doctor may also measure the shape of your eye. The doctor will describe the results of the evaluation to you and discuss any recommended treatments and issue glasses or contacts prescriptions if needed. Remember to schedule an annual eye exam to maintain optimum eye health.
If you are experiencing vision abnormalities such as blurry vision, eye pain, headaches, red eyes, blind spots, glare, or any others, please schedule an eye exam with our office.
The purpose of the eye exam is to make sure our patients are getting the most out of their vision, and to detect any eye complications or diseases before they cause vision damage.
